Workshop Giveaway

We're giving one lucky person a spot in our entire week of Book Arts Workshops held in Provo, UT, Aug. 5-10, 2013. Here's how it will work:

1. Share this blog post on Facebook, Google Plus, Pinterest, Twitter, or in a post on your blog. Did we leave any place out? Let us know and we'll decide if it should be in this list.
2. When you share, include the above image.
3. Each time you share is one entry in the drawing. You may share up to three times in each place, but these must be at least three days apart. So, you may share in all five places on the same day, but for additional shares you need to wait at least three days to share at the same place(s) again.
4. After you share, write a comment on this post letting us know where you shared. Comment once with your entire tally, or comment for each place, whichever is easiest for you.
5. You may enter/share up until July 20, at 1pm Mountain Time.
6. On July 20, we will randomly select a winner.
7. If the winner is unable to attend, another winner will be randomly selected.

Free tuition for each class in the entire week of workshops held in Provo, UT, Aug. 5-10, 2013. No monetary award will be given as a substitute for classes you do not attend. Travel expenses are not included.

Focus on Book Arts Conference 2013

I am so excited to be invited back as a teacher at the Focus on Book Arts Conference this year. I'll be teaching our Ten Book Workshop (exciting details below). I love watching all the books made throughout this workshop and we have so much fun!

In the Ten Book Workshop each student creates ten books. 

While aimed at beginners, students of all skill levels are welcome. I've had intermediate students take the class and love it. We all learn by going back to the basics, and in this class we will cover the basics of bookbinding.

The ten book structures we make in the 3 day workshop are:

- Single sheet book

- Chapbooks

- Japanese stab bound book

- Flowerfold book

- A traditional hardcover book (sewn onto tapes with a drop spine)

- Accordion book with pockets and signatures

- Circle accordion book

- Hinged ledger book

- Soft cover leather long-stitch book

- Hard cover long-stitch book

The Focus on Book Arts Conference is Book Arts heaven for one week. It's held in Forest Grove, Oregon which is just a 20 minute drive from Portland.
